Today I Talked With Mustafa

In the world of business and industry, there are those businesses where things are "different". Today I dealt with Mustafa, the general manager for a pizza franchise owned by a man who spends most of his time in The Netherlands. Mustafa was cool. In fact, very cool. He had a handle on things and worked diligently with me to solve issues relating to how our company's service to his franchise was having difficulties. Problems resolved.

Today I was cleansed of some personal misconceptions. Today I was freed of some prejudices. Today...I met Mustafa. Is there a Mustafa in your life you need to meet? Duh...not preaching...just wondering.

Psst...There's the Other Me

My 9-5 is probably like many others'. Full of issues and solutions. Today I had the pleasure of explaining all the facets of what we do to a customer who only bought our service for a benefit. Today, he saw it as a solution. But...wow...how hard it was explaining it to him. You see, people buy services for a benefit to their business, not an issue. Today I had to explain the benefits...and once explained, he was happy to be a customer.

Is it not that way in all of life's encounters? Do we not have to stop and explain the benefits of choosing this or that before moving on to the next life decision? Mixing this business stuff with personal stuff isn't easy...yet it's empowering in the notion that the business stuff can make the personal stuff better...DUH...isn't that what it's all about?

I like it. Period.

OK...not totally objective...but isn't it OK to not be so every time?

Connextions

Former President Bush (GW's daddy) is an Episcopal and his wife Barbara as well. They attend a church in Dallas and a dear friend of ours' son-in-law is the newly appointed pastor at their church. They have about 8000 members and it is a joy to know that they are active in their church's ministry. Our friend shared with us tonight that she met Barbara Bush in a meeting outside of Sunday worship and they hugged and wished each other well. I was touched by this. Very deeply touched by this that the former first lady went to church services designed to build followers of Jesus Christ. Is that awesome or what?

Don't sell the Bush's short. That's all I have to say.

The Pizza Industry

There's a whole different world out there...it's called the pizza industry. In the world of foodservice, pizza is unique. Low food costs and labor costs make it a tempest for those wanting to have their own business. But...wow...it's a strange world.

I worked with a startup pizza operation in 1984 and quickly learned how profitable it can be. These days I serve the industry with a service business of my own. That's why this blog is cheesy, garlic pizza...as it's a world where everything is different, yet the same. You mix up the ingredients, yet...it's still pizza. My world is like that; different things happening all the time, yet it's still my world. 'nuf said...for now.

About Me

I'm referred to as Brother Marty by people in my community. I heed a calling to the healing ministry, but more importantly, to be a minister of Jesus Christ for any and all who will seek His comfort.
